| What is child sponsorship?
Child sponsorship is the process of providing a set monthly contribution to ADAP. This money goes into our long-term development work within the community that your child lives, providing them with the basics that we all take for granted, such as clean water, health care and education.
How much does it cost to sponsor a child?
It costs just a minimum of just £15 per month to sponsor a child. That is equivalent to just 50p a day...the price of a daily newspaper, yet enough to make a lasting difference to a child's life.
How long should I continue to be a sponsor?
To help us see our projects through to their conclusions, we hope your link with ADAP and the child you sponsor will continue for a duration of at-least 3 years. However, if you are unable to continue your support you may cancel at any time.
How often will I hear from the child I sponsor?
When you first sponsor a child, you will receive a letter from ADAP's admin team thanking and welcoming you to the programme. As a sponsor, you will receive a letter/picture and current information about the child's well-being every quarter.
Can I sponsor for less than the stated amount?
Idealy, we would like all our sponsors to commit a minimum of £15 per month to achieve a lasting result.
How much of your sponsor monies actually goes towards the Child?
For every £1 a sponsor gives, about 75p goes directly towards the project, 10p on encouraging new sponsors to join us and 15p is spent on general administration including computing and accounting systems that runs the actual programme.
Do I get to pick the child I want to Sponsor?
ADAP provides the option for sponsors to pick the gender of the child he/she would like to sponsor, however ADAP does not always guarantee that sponsors will get first choice.
